The Turin Giants Name Former Italy Manager Spalletti

Juventus have named former Azzurri head coach the veteran manager to lead the team for the rest of the term.

The experienced coach takes over from his predecessor, who was let go after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio recently.

Tudor arrived at the club in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but left after seven months at the end of an eight-match winless run.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June post a qualifying defeat against Norway, putting Italy in danger of missing a third straight World Cup.

Spalletti has also managed Inter Milan, Roma and Udinese in Serie A and secured two Russian Premier League titles with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
